Environmental Compliance Audits
|

Environmental Compliance Audits (ECAs) are typically conducted on behalf of commercial and industrial enterprises. An ECA is one tool a commercial or industrial entity may use as an aid in determining its level of compliance with applicable local, state and federal environmental regulations. A proactive, well structured and well conducted ECA should identify all non-compliance issues/activities and present specific recommendations to effectively address such issues/activities.
CEG conducts ECAs in accordance with auditing protocols established under the federal Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), as described in Section 103 of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), as well as in accordance with applicable local and state rules and regulations.
Typical activities/tasks completed as part of CEG's ECAs include:
Visit the facility to document all forms of regulated activities
Identify all State and/or Federal regulations applicable to specific activities conducted at the facility
Prepare a written report of findings and offer written recommendations to achieve full compliance with applicable regulations
Assist the facility in complying with applicable regulations (e.g. conduct further evaluations, prepare and submit permit applications, etc., as necessary)
CEG finds that most regulated commercial/industrial enterprises want to comply with regulatory requirements, but have difficulty identifying those applicable to their specific situation. ECAs are designed to do just that; identify regulations specific to each commercial/industrial situation and suggest ways for the client to achieve full compliance with the regulations. Full compliance with applicable regulations helps insure that the regulated commercial/industrial enterprise does not suffer financial losses in the form of government fines, expensive remediation activities resulting from unintended or uncontrolled releases of regulated substances to the environment (e.g., soil, groundwater or air), or legal actions initiated by the public or public bodies as a result of non-compliance issues. Let CEG's ECA experts assist you with your compliance needs.
